My #1 communication tool is E-mail because it’s so convenient for me. I used to communicate a lot using online chats and instant messaging with friends but now it’s almost 100% using E-mail.
All the tools mentioned in Module 3.10 which are E-mail, online chats, instant messaging, online survey or opinion poll and voice over internet protocol can all be effectively used in the classroom with teacher direction on use and lots of monitoring. I believe students would really enjoy using any of these to communicate with each other, other students in other classes as well as with their teacher. Using these tools allow students to get immediate feedback on what they are working on, interactive discussions, they can share documents via email. What is also great about these tools is students who don’t have a lot of computer experience can still participate and in fact they’ll become more efficient in the computer and typing skills.
My favorite communication tool is my cell phone. However, since I can't use my cell phone in the classroom to effectively teach kids, I would have to say that online chats would be the most effective communication tool available. Most students have a 'myspace' page, and participate in some type of online chatting almost daily. Because of this, I think that it would be very effective for a teacher to have some type of wiki or online web blog set up for their students to visit and communicate on. They can discuss what's going on in class, on campus, homework assignments can be posted, even blogs discussing the book being read by the class can be created. This would prove very effective in todays society.
My favorite communication tool for the classroom has recently become the blog. I had never considered using one before in a classroom situation until now. It could be used in a variety of ways. I love the idea of using for literature units. Instead of students answering a series of questions on paper, they can expres their opinions onthe blog which is more fun because it is on the computer. I like the idea of having one set up for parents as well. They can comment on different things that are going on in the school, and they can also see what their children have to say about their class. It is a fun and easy way for teachers to assess and communicate with their class, and I fully intend to have a classroom blog when I begin to teach.
I am thinking in terms of the elementary level and music. There are two of the communication tools that I think would be easy to implement and effective to incorporate into the lessons. One is email and the other is a class blog.
By using email, students, with teacher guidance of course, would benefit and enjoy greatly communication with someone in let's say the orchestra. The class could share what we are listening to, learning about and interested in. A person in the "trenches" could share about their instrument, rehearsals, concerts, favorite composer, etc.
A class blog would be great for students to respond to teacher guided questions. Students love to talk, share their opinion and use the computer. By having the questions posed by the teacher it would be relevant and a great addition to the lesson.
My favorite communication tools are text messaging and E-mail. I believe that in the classroom, all of the communication tools can be beneficial. Students can communicate with other classrooms anywhere in the world about the same subject that they're studying. Students can either work individually, such as in E-mail, or in groups in online chats. They can share ideas, offer suggestions, and get feedback. All of these tools are so important for children to learn.
I use e-mail and texting on my cell. I also keep track with my sons via myspace, which is a wonderful way to see how they interact with their friends. I believe the blog would be an excellent tool to use in the classroom. Students could see what others are feeling about a class subject, get feedback on problems they might have and so on. E-mail is also a great form of communication. I would use this to inform parents and students of the upcoming work for my class or needs for the class. Parents could also get involved through the blog. These tools will be around for along time and students might as well learn to use them to their atvantage.
My favorite communication tool is email. I think it is the most convenient way to talk to people and is easy to access. I think email would be a great way for students to communicate in the classroom. They could send each other notes and attachments and ask the teacher questions related to the project. Email is a great way to practice written communication skills and is just another tool to keep students interested in learning. I also think a class blog is a great way for students to organize information and publish their work. They must also be responsibility to keep the blog current if the teacher makes it a graded part of the project.
The tools described in our modules are all extremely effective and useful tools. I think communication between the students in the class is important because one may be able to help another. Communication between teacher and student is essential as well. Using these tools students will receive immediate feedback and be able to work on something that may have been a weakness. I think the use of blogs is another great tool. The students can read eachother's opinions and respond right away to eachother. They can use these blogs to discuss school happenings, teams meetings, or projects that the teacher has assigned. Bottom line is communication is necessary in the schools and these are realy great ways to accomplish this.
It is difficult to choose one communication tool as my favorite. The two that I use the most are email and instant messaging. I enjoy email because it allows me to communicate at a time that is convenient for me. I enjoy instant messaging because I can talk to more than one person at a time. I use email in my classroom to communicate with students, especially during breaks and summer vacation. I have built many good connections with my students. When they move to the next grade level, they are able to keep me updated on things happening in their life. They are also able to practice grammar and spelling skills.
There are two communication tools that I find are the most efficient for me to communicate. The first tool is email. Emailing allows you type out all of the thoughts that you have whether the email is for personal use or business purposes. I find email extremely helpful at work because I can type out all questions that I have for someone and also have documentation of the questions that I ask. The same goes for when answering someone else’s questions. With email, you always have written proof of what was said. The second communication tool that I enjoy using is instant messaging. I think that it is a great tool for students to use at home. Instant messaging gives students an opportunity to communicate with numerous people at one time without being on the phone all evening. I feel like these communication tools can be very useful for students when used properly.
My favorite communication tool is e-mail. All of these tools could be used effectively in the classroom to commuicate with other students all over the world. Online surveys or polls can also give you immediate feedback. Instant messaging has taken the place of phones because they can talk to multiple people at one time.
My favorite communication tool for the classroom would be to blog. Since using it in this class I can see the benefits such as being able to view other ideals from my fellow classmates on the questions asked. Also, because it is in a template it will give me as a teacher the control over whom my students are chatting. Because each class period is timed, the student wouldn't necessarily have the time to answer questions given and exit to run around on the net while under the watchful eye of their teacher.
When I consider my favorite communication tools, the first thing that comes to mind is myself. In my opinion, my being able to talk is sometimes greater than any other communication tool. Whether it’s face-to-face or by way of phone, much can be accomplished by word of mouth. Most of us do talk everyday and when we do, it doesn’t take much effort, at all. As for the use of this form of communication in the classroom, it is the most effective. Students use this form to answer questions, to receive permission from the teacher, to talk to their peers, and a host of other activities. Because talking gets the job done (99.9% of the time), it will forever be the most highly used form of communication.
Although I am sure there are more effective communication tools to use in the classroom, I have to go with email. I am comfortable with email as I use it on a daily basis. I would love for my students to have access to student email, in which they could communicate with each other and students in other classrooms as well. It is an extremely accessible form of communication. I know this, because it is something that even I have (almost) mastered. If I can do it, my students could run circles around me with minimal practice. I think it would be a wonderful way to share ideas and spark some intellectual curiosity.
My favorite communication tool is my cell phone. It is easy and always with me so i can use it when ever I'm ready.Since i can't use it in a class room setting i probably would be most comfortable emailing because this to is simple to use. I think this tool is very effective and makes it very easy for students and teachers to have a good means of communication

I think this tool is very effective and makes it very easy for students and teachers to have a good means of communication.
I would have to choose email as my number 1 communication tool. It is easy to use and it is something that students are able to use on their own as well. It may not always be the best communication tool outside of the classroom but it is very effective in the classroom. Email is also good in the classroom setting because it is personal without being uncomfortable for the students and\or teacher.
My favorite communication tool is e-mail. E-mail can be effectively used by teachers to remind students of upcoming deadlines. Also, e-mailing between group memebers part of a group project can be useful. Also, students can e-mail webmasters to find out additional information other than what is displayed on the websites they made. The reply e-mail back from a webmaster to a student can help explain items on a website that students don't understand, and can even tell the students additinal helpful information that the student had been researching for.
My two favorite communication tools would be my computer and my cell phone. My cell phone is unbelievably convenient as I have a very busy schedule and am not often in my room. It goes everywhere with me, and I use it as my main form of on-the-go communication as well as my alarm clock, scheduler, and texting apparatus. My computer is convenient because if I can’t get a hold of someone on my cell, I can email them. When I begin to teach, I will not use my cell during school hours, but I can decide to give it to students as a quick way to contact me in case of emergency, and the computer can be used by my students to keep in contact with me as well as their fellow class mates via email, or instant messaging. Of course, the computer would come in handy for just about any assignment that I give them in an English course.
My new favorite form of communication within the classroom is the blog. This type of communication allows students to casually interact with each other. I think it is a great way to share information and questions with fellow classmates. This also allows the teacher to communicate better with each individual student. The blog also gives the teacher and students a chance to see everyone's response to a question. The blog is a great form of communication and I will try to utilize this tool as much as possible when I begin teaching.
One of the most useful ways to communicate with students in the classroom is through email, or blog. I think that it makes it much easier for the students to interact and the teacher to check. It also allows the freedom of doing it from home whenever they want.
My favorite communication tools are Instant messenger systems, E-mail, the cell phone, and most importantly the mouth. I feel the only of these that can be used in the class room is E-mail and the mouth. I want to teach Elementary school so odds are I'll really only be e-mailing the teachers. So my oratorical skills need to be superb. However, in upper-level education E-mail is a very beneficial tool.
My two favorite communication tools are my cell phone and email. It is possible to use email in the classroom, but it is impossible to use a cell phone. I would say instant messaging was the first thing that came to mind when thinking of the best teaching tool, but I soon realized that online chats would be more effective. It is easier to include and monitor more students that way.
Without a doubt, I'd have to say my favorite communication tool is E-mail. It is fast, it's convenient, it's portable (especially today), and it doesn't require much memorization on the part of number combination. In addition that, those may feel awkward speaking to another person can communicate without those negative feelings.
Effectively, the e-mail can be used as, well, a source of quick connection between students and teacher. Students do not have to wait hours or days to get the chance to talk to the teacher one-on-one with questions when they could directly e-mail what they need in a matter of moments. Teachers use e-mail as a mass news system, not to mention the ability they have to receive assignments when the students aren't directly in front of them to turn them in.
If you can believe it, I'm still warming up to email. How long has it been since it weaved itself so importantly into society? Long enough for me to give in, apparently. I kid, it's a great way to stay in contact.
I'm not sure how much I will be using it in an elementary school music classroom, but it will most defiantly prove itself important when staying in touch with parents.
A blog would be a very interesting concept as well, if I was able to pull it off in my classroom. If anything, it would give my students a great experience.
E-mail and Blogs are communication tools that I use very often. That are useful for reaching students and communicating with parents. The blog is especially useful in the classroom . Discussions can continue outside of classtime and kepp students involved even when they're not in your room.
Blog #3- Communication Tools I think my cell phone is definitely one of my favorite communication tools. It is my instant connection with the world around me. I also enjoy communicating through e-mail and instant messenger. Email is a very efficient method of communication. Teachers can use email to communicate with parents and vice versa. Prior to this class, I had not had any experience with blogging. I feel blogging is an excellent tool which allows people to share their knowledge, thoughts, and experiences with others. Not only that, but people are able to respond and comment on other blogs as well. I had the idea of having my students create musical blogs. They would be able to post anything related to music. Maybe they had a musical experience at a concert they would like to share. Or, perhaps they have an alternate fingering which works well in the upper register. I could also have them post an evaluation of their musical performances. It is important for students to develop communication skills through modern technology.
